Understanding
Jadeite

Its beauty, quality, and authenticity—in a few words.

What to look for

Four things worth noticing.

Color

From green to lavender, white, and yellow—look for richness and a color that speaks to you.

Transparency

Translucency lets light in, creating the soft inner glow prized in fine jadeite.

Clarity

Natural features give each stone its character—read the piece as a whole, not by one detail.

Shape & Finish

Proportion and polish reveal the care taken in shaping the stone.

Understanding Type A jadeite

Type A is natural and untreated—never bleached, polymer-filled, or dyed. Types B and C have been treated, which lowers their value. Appearance alone cannot tell them apart.

We select only Type A jadeite—the best kind—so the beauty of every stone is entirely its own.

Gemological reports

Confidence Begins with Clarity

Every Yuen piece comes with a report from the Nan Yang Gemological Institute (NGI) in Singapore, confirming Natural Fei Cui (Jadeite Jade, Type A) with no indications of chemical treatment. The full report is linked on every product page.

Value

A Value Rooted in Rarity

What shapes jadeite’s worth: natural untreated material, rich color and transparency, fine craftsmanship, and the rarity of size and quality together.

Choose a piece you love, supported by a report you can read.

Market value rises and falls with demand—no gemstone is a guaranteed investment.
